SJCS Community Partners

St. John’s Community Services wishes to acknowledge the outstanding support of our Community Partners. It is through their financial support, along with our other partners, that SJCS can continue to support and advocate for people with disabilities and their families. We are honored to recognize our Fiscal Year 2009 Community Partners with gratitude for their generous grants.

 

$100,000 and above

The Founders Board of St. John’s Community Services, Washington, DC

To provide inclusive and integrated educational and clinical services to 28 students with autism and other developmental disabilities currently enrolled in SJCS-DC’s Education Services located in the DC Public Schools.  The grant also allows for program expansion by opening a fourth classroom and increasing the number of students with disabilities we support.

 

$50,000 and above

The Assisi Foundation of Memphis, Inc.

To enable SJCS-TN to launch Case Management Services. Case Management assists persons 65 years and older or 21 years and older with a physical disability to find personal, health and household support to enable them to remain in their home environment instead of a nursing home. 

 

The Alexander and Margaret Stewart Trust, Washington, DC

To support SJCS-DC’s Clinical Services program. Clinical Services provides therapy, health and social work to support children and youth with disabilities and their families enrolled in SJCS-DC’s Education Services.

 

$10,000 and above

 The John Dickson Home Fund, Washington, DC

To provide SJCS-DC’s general operating fund, targeted to enhance Community Living Services (residential) to adults with disabilities living in DC group homes and apartments.

 

Dominion Virginia Power, Richmond, VA

To provide an energy audit and to make energy-efficient improvements to the Coventry Home in Annandale, VA.  The audit served as a template for making similar improvements to other homes and apartments in SJCS-VA's Community Living Services.

 

The Washington Forrest Foundation

To enable SJCS-VA’s Community Living Services to make repairs and purchases for the Coventry Home in Annandale, VA. The grant will also assist SJCS provide physically accessible homes, affordable housing, and greater independence for the residents.

 

The Knights of Columbus of Virginia, Bristow, VA

To enable SJCS-VA’s Community Living Services to repave the driveway at the Coventry Home.

 

Prenza Investment Management, LLC, New York, NY

To SJCS’s general operating fund, targeted toward mission-driven activities in advocacy and community participation.

 

Wachovia Foundation, Washington, DC

To SJCS-VA Employment Services to be used to provide employment supports for individuals with disabilities to attain and retain competitive employment.

 

$2,500 and above

Lawrence Saunders Fund, Radner, PA

To SJCS-PA Employment Services for general operating support, targeted to develop competitive employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

  

$1,000 and above

Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3B, Washington, DC
To support general operations for SJCS-DC’s Community Living Services, targeted toward needed services for individual residents in group homes and apartments.

 

The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Washington, DC

To SJCS-DC in order to replace a couch in the Chesapeake Home, adding to the comfortable living environment for the residents.
